After several hard fought battles, Vaughn Gittin Jr came out on top. Ryan Tuerck and Rhys Millen placed second and third, respectively.

Robbie Nishida will be debuting his updated livery on his Achilles Radial Bridges Racing Lexus SC300 at Formula D Seattle. Robbie's car went from white to black, and his car now matches Achilles Radial teammate Daigo Saito's Lexus SC430.

There have been many long days and late nights getting ready for Formula D Seattle. The shop was very busy late into the night.
You can definitely tell we are in the middle of drift season. Coming up next week is Formula Drift Seattle Round 5 at Evergreen Speedway. It is the major drifting event in the Northwest.
Since the Achilles Radial drift cars were dropped off a few weeks ago, we have been working on many drift cars and getting them ready for events.
Celerity Photography is offering a special for friends and fans of PSI. Make sure you mention PSI or Portland Speed Industries.

It is not an unusual sight to see Tandem of Die videos all over the internet. This time however, the feature focuses on their cars.

Kyle Pollard and Chop left the shop this week to embark on a 4 day road trip with Scion and the new FR-S. Scion is doing regional training, in Meridian, ID and Spokane, WA, for the Scion FR-S. Kyle Pollard was asked to join them on this road trip to give a drift demostration. They wanted him to join them after seeing him drift at Portland International Raceway, PIR. Kyle got a few runs in before the driveshaft in his Formula D Nissan Silvia broke. Scion saw that Kyle had talent but needed a car. They offered up a Scion FR-S for him to drift and of course Kyle jumped at this opportunity. He has always liked the AE86 and was happy to see them bring it back in the form of the FR-S.

Since that first meeting, both Kyle and Scion were interested in working together in the future.
This past weekend, we were out at Portland International Raceway for the 52nd Rose Cup Festival. There was a lot of racing going on.
It was a late night tonight working on cars.
Kyle Pollard and Brian Hartsock were working hard to get Kyle's Nissan Silvia K's ready for drifting tomorrow. After the last event, Kyle needed to swap in an HKS 5-speed sequential transmission.
Brian Hartsock, Kyle's crew chief, took it upon himself to rewire the Silvia. Brian is working on a wiring kit solution for the Nissan S13. Kyle's car was a perfect prototype car.
This past week we were fortunate to have a 2013 Scion FR-S on loan from Scion.
The Scion FR-S was built as a joint venture between Toyota and Subaru. It shares the 2.0 L Flat-4 Toyota-Subaru "D-4S" with the Subaru BRZ and Toyota FT-86.

You should be using the Slammed Navigator app "if you've ever scraped going over a speed bump, bottomed out, or possibly caught your frame and gotten stuck then you know how difficult it can be to plan out your route to a destination while avoiding all the imperfections in the road along the way. Slammed Navigator attempts to ease your navigation worries by providing you with real time information on local road conditions, potential road hazards, and more."

Here is a link to the gallery of previous cars that have been showcased. We will continue to add photos to this collection as more cars go through our lobby.
Here is the current car that sits in the lobby,
We are proud to announce our upcoming Summer Cruise-In.
This will be our third annual cruise-in and will be held on June 30th, 2012 from 9am to 6pm. We had a great turn out the last two years and we would like to continue that this year. We expect a wide variety of makes and models of cars, so there should be a little something for everybody. Here are some photos from last years event, taken by Trevor Stevens of Celerity Photography,

Recently we have been checking out Autemo.com. It is the website for an Australia based Automotive design studio. While browsing through their many great images, we noticed a few of the Skyline. We think it is really cool that they liked the Skyline enough to use it as a base for their artwork.
Here are few samples,

We are currently working on a new website. We like the website we have now, but it is time for something new. The new site has been designed by the creative team at Hybrid Industries, the same ones that designed our current site. We are consolidating a few sites we have into this one new site. Check back for more details as progress continues. We have over 300 blog posts so this may take awhile. :)
Here is a sneak preview,

The race track at Ridge Motorsports Park in Shelton, WA has recently been completed. The build is taking place is several stages but the main track has been paved. This new track is a great addition to motorsports in the Northwest.

Above: The track layout.
Here is a video of one of the first laps around the new track.
We can't wait to have a chance to bring down some cars and run a few laps on the track. Maybe we can have one of our client appreciation days here.
